Homemade Pogos Recipe Gluten-free and dairy-free (casein-free).

PORTIONS: 10-12 POGOS



ORGANIC INGREDIENTS

  • 210 g (1 1/2 cup) all-purpose flour "La Merveilleuse"
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) sugar
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) baking powder
  • 2,5 ml (1/2 tsp) salt
  • 255 g (1 cup) plant-based milk substitute
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 10-12 sausages, to taste
  • Oil for fryer (canola or peanut)
  • 10-12 popsicle sticks

PREPARATION

  1. In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine plant-based milk substitute and eggs.
  3. Combine the two mixtures to make a smooth batter.
  4. Let rest 15 minutes.
  5. During this time, start the fryer and put a sausage on each popsicle stick.
  6. Pour the batter into a deep glass (the glass needs to be higher than the length of the sausages).
  7. Dip the sausages one by one in the batter, dipping several times to get a good coating. Put directly into the fryer. Depending on the size of your fryer, you may need to cook the pogos in several batches to avoid crowding.
  8. Cook until the pogos are golden all around. Remove and drain on paper towels.
